How do I work out the last day to cancel a contract?
Take the date the term ends and count the notice period back from it. The cancellation has to reach the provider before the notice period starts. With a term ending on 31 October and one month's notice, that is 30 September.
What happens if I miss the deadline?
Most contracts renew automatically for another period, often a full year. Some countries limit this; in Germany, contracts signed since March 2022 can usually be cancelled with one month's notice once the minimum term is over.
